En selvoppnevnt gruppe vil bygge opp en tro kopi av det gamle ærverdige Hotel Hardanger i Odda. Hotellet som senere ble rådhus var Nord-Europas største trehus før det ble revet i 1977.

FORESLÅ KANDIDAT TIL OSLO BYS ARKITEKTURPRIS 2006
Det skal også i år utdeles en arkitekturpris til et prosjekt eller anlegg som ved sine estetiske kvaliteter styrker Oslos byutvikling. Prosjektene/anleggene som foreslås til prisen må være utført etter 1986. Tema for årets pris er: Småhus i ytre områder.
Rådet for byarkitektur nominerer 3-4 prosjekter, i prioritert rekkefølge. Vi forutsetter at rådet både nominerer prosjekter som er tilpasset omgivende bebyggelse og prosjekter som planlagt i kontrast til omgivende bebyggelse. Dette er to helt forskjellige svar på en estetisk utfordring og må ikke blandes i samme klasse.

CNU ANNOUNCES 2006 CHARTER AWARD WINNERS
After reviewing more than 160 submission for how well they embody and advance the principles of the Charter of the New Urbanism, a jury of accomplished urbanists has selected 17 projects for New Urbanismís highest honor, recognition as Charter Award winners. Three of them are from Europe.

CONGRESS OF NEW URBANISM 2006
The congress will be held June 1 - 4, 2006 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. This year, the attention of the Congress will turn to a timely theme: Developing the New Urbanism.
Developing the New Urbanism will focus on implementation and will highlight the role of the New Urbanist developer.
Speakers will include urban design legend Leon Krier, famed A Pattern Language-author Christopher Alexander, CNU co-founder Andres Duany, fresh from a historic series of post-hurricane charrettes in the Gulf Coast, and fellow co-founder Peter Calthorpe, the lead planner responsible for the regional vision for Southern Louisiana.
Registration will open March 1st, 2006. To attend, you have to be a member of Congress for the New Urbanism.

THE VENICE CHARTER REVISITED CONFERENCE
INTBAUs conference wil be held 3-5 november in Venice Italy. INTBAU seeks to advance a pluralist view that would allow considerations of cultural continuity, tradition and collective memory to over-ride the Venice Charter's requirement that buildings be treated as historic documents.
